Another two-piece band, The Helio Sequence out of Portland, Oregon is now on my radar. I bought their first Sub Pop release, “Love and Distance” from iTunes earlier in the week. The band’s first two releases were on Portland’s Cavity Search Records.
Helio’s Wikipedia entry calls them “an indie electronica/shoegazer band.” The band was formed in 1999 in Portland, Oregon and consists of Brandon Summers on guitar and vocals and Benjamin Weikel, who has also played for Modest Mouse, on keyboards and drums.
